On September 7, 2007, I was wrongfully convicted and sentenced to seven and a half years in prison for an alleged sex crime that I did not commit. In fact, I was not even at the alleged crime scene. After my release on May 20, 2014, I wrote my memoir, FORGIVENESS: An Innocent Prisoner's Testimony, shown below. Note：The memoir was added to the Library of Congress collection in 2017. Shown below is its U.S. Copyright Registration Certificate.

In the Court on 09/07/2007, Defense attorney Scott J. Engelhard declared publicly, "Mr. Cheng is a fine, fine human being." See page 14 of the 09/07/2007 court-approved transcript (below).

On 09/09/2008, a year later after I was being wrongfully convicted for the so-called sex crime I didn't commit, Ms. Nussbaum, one of super appellate lawyers, wrote me after she reviewed the entire of courts records:
"You are an innocent man wrongfully caught up in the craziness and deceipt of these two women through no doing of your own ... the trial judge made errors in your trial." （see FACT-52 below)
