Acu-vibra is an effective Muscle-Rehab therapy created by Charle Y. Cheng in the later of 1960's. It was introduced to the United States in the early of 1980's (see FACT-44 below).
The new English word "Acu-vibra" is the combination of 'acupuncture', 'acupressure' and 'vibration' -- it's a combination of healing skills of traditional Chinese medical massage (which require clients clothes on), acupressure, acupuncture points and chiropractic manipulation.

The Acu-vibra vibrating at the beginning (or origin) and the ending (or desertion) of muscles for the purpose to get the balance of muscles.
The Acu-vibra uses the same points and meridians as acupuncture, but instead of needles, treats with pressure of fingers, knuckles, palms, heels of the hands, and even the elbow. Pressure of varying degrees is applied along the acupuncture meridians, the vital energy pathway, and muscle reflex points on the anatomy.
In this regard, the therapy differs from Swedish massage and certain other techniques. The Acu-vibra is designed primarily rather than for relaxation or enjoyment.
With Charlie Cheng's Acu-vibra, the patient/client are required to remain fully clothed. Exceptions include the arms and legs, which may or may not be fully clothed depending on the patient's needs. Occasionally, the therapy may also be applied to a patient's/client's bare back -- This would be the case, for example, if an ointment were applied. (Note: a medical gown provided for female patients' convenience.)
The muscle manipulation being performed through the patients' clothing or gown.

Some of Charlie Y. Cheng's Acu-vibra technique for painful knees, backache, tennis elbow and whiplash had been documented by well-known photographer David Watanabe in 1983 (see FACT-42 & FACT-43 below).

VICTORIA F. COURTLAND WANTED
TO WRITE MY ACU-VIBRA STORY
Victoria Forester Courtland, author of fiction A VISIBLE WOMAN,highly appraised my Acu-vibra technique, she said, "Any time ... I would have found great relief from his ttechnique. I feel like on that level he is like a healing force in my life." (See below.)
Victoria Forester Courtland "V.C.", described my Acu-vibra technique as: "It's like a finger pulsing along the muscles ... he is using his fingers to tap very quick sort of staccato, hard at times, along the muscles." (see FACT-41 below).
Victoria Forester Courtland even wanted to write my Acu-vibra technique in her book about me. In 2000, she came to my office and asked me to take pictures with her in front of my clinic sigh (see FACT-31 below). I was told that one of these photos would be used for her future book about my Acu-vibra technique.
